OMNITRONIC PM Series: DJ mixers for different setups
The DJ mixers in the OMNITRONIC PM Series cover a wide range of requirements, from compact 2-channel setups to comprehensively equipped 4-channel solutions. Depending on the model, the feature set includes Bluetooth, an integrated MP3 player, a USB audio interface, filters or effects.
Recurring features include line and phono inputs, a separate microphone section, headphone outputs for cueing, as well as master and record outputs. Crossfaders are also part of the standard equipment, although their adjustment and assignment options vary depending on the model.
Compact 2-channel mixers
The 2-channel models are suitable for straightforward DJ setups with two main playback sources. The PM-222 focuses entirely on the classic essentials. Its two channels feature gain, 2-band EQ and switching between phono and line. A cue mix control makes monitoring easier, while the replaceable crossfader blends between the two channels.
PM-202F and PM-202FX
The PM-202F and PM-202FX add Bluetooth with a range of up to 15 metres to the 2-channel concept. They also feature four line and two phono inputs, as well as a crossfader with an adjustable curve and reverse function. The PM-202FX differs from the otherwise identically equipped PM-202F through its additional integrated effects.
PM-222P
The PM-222P combines two channels with Bluetooth and an integrated MP3 player with LCD. The channel strips are equipped with 3-band equalizers. It also includes a crossfader with an adjustable curve and reverse switch, as well as a switchable level display for the master and PFL signals. This gives the model more digital playback options than the other 2-channel mixers in the series.
Three channels and integrated players
With the PM-311P and PM-322P, the series includes two mixers for setups with three input channels. Both models feature an integrated MP3 player, but otherwise focus on different priorities.
PM-311P
On the PM-311P, two channels can be switched between phono and line. The third channel is intended for USB or line signals. All three channel strips provide gain, 3-band EQ and a cue button. A distinctive feature is the microphone section with its own 3-band equalizer and talkover function.
PM-322P
The PM-322P expands the digital playback options with Bluetooth audio streaming. Six line and two phono inputs also provide more connection options. The microphone input can be connected via XLR or 6.3 mm jack. For output, both XLR and RCA master connections are available, along with a record output that is independent of the master. The crossfader features an adjustable curve and a reverse switch.
Four channels for more extensive applications
The 4-channel models offer more connection options and additional functions for sound shaping, signal distribution and digital playback. This makes them suitable for larger mobile setups as well as fixed installations.
PM-404F
The PM-404F stands out above all for its flexible Bluetooth assignment. The wirelessly received signal can be freely assigned to any of the four channels. In addition, each channel features a bipolar low-pass and high-pass filter for creative transitions and targeted frequency shaping. A separately adjustable booth output, two headphone connections and a Bluetooth range of up to 20 metres complete the feature set. Despite its four channels, the PM-404F remains compact at 24 centimetres wide and weighing 2.85 kilograms.
PM-422P
The PM-422P combines four input channels with Bluetooth and an integrated MP3 player with LCD. Eight line and two phono inputs provide the largest number of analogue inputs in the series. The crossfader features assignment switches and an adjustable curve. It also includes an adjustable monitor output, balanced XLR outputs and a record output that is independent of the master.
PM-444Pi
The PM-444Pi also features Bluetooth and an integrated MP3 player. Its distinguishing feature is the integrated USB audio interface, which allows music to be played directly from a PC or Mac. The headphone section offers cue mix and split functions. With seven line and two phono inputs, an adjustable monitor output, and XLR, RCA and record outputs, the model is suitable for extensive setups. The PM-444Pi is the only mixer in this overview designed for installation in a 19-inch rack with four rack units.
Different priorities on a shared foundation
The OMNITRONIC PM Series offers tiered solutions for different channel and connection requirements. The PM-222 provides the classic entry point, while the PM-202F, PM-202FX and PM-222P add Bluetooth, effects or an MP3 player to compact setups. The PM-311P and PM-322P provide additional room for more playback sources with three channels. Among the 4-channel models, the PM-404F focuses on flexible Bluetooth assignment and filters, the PM-422P on a particularly extensive analogue connection section, and the PM-444Pi on computer connectivity and rack installation.
The series therefore ranges from a straightforward mixer for classic playback sources to a versatile control centre for mobile and permanently installed audio systems.
