Not everything used to be better in the past!
We often like to think of times in the past and some even wish them back. And they were good times indeed. But is it true, that everything was better? Approaching this question from the technical side, one has to conclude, that it does not always apply. Let us be more precise: The new EUROLITE LED D-12 serves as an example. It is a new LED beam effect that succeeded an "older" predecessor with halogen. The housing is the same, the number of the lenses does not vary much. Also the effect itself, two beams exit from every lens and perform a circular movement, has not changed. But the beams of the 3 Watt LEDs shine brighter than those of the 2 x 3 role model. So technology these days is not worse, it is better. That also implies the numerous benefits the LED technology brings about. And in comparison to many other Derbies on the market, the EUROLITE D-12 can, due to its amber-colored LEDs, come extraordinary close to the original and thus is really unique. Its price may be a bit higher, but the costs will pay off shortly after the purchase. Finally, the D-12 convinces all along the time and confirms, that beam effects in the past were not bad, but not as effective as the devices nowadays.
