Moving Head Spots

Moving-Heads bring moving light to your event. While in the past they could only be found on the big stages of rock shows, the moving heads have now become an indispensable part of TV productions, concert stages, discotheques and theatres.

The devices consist of the base with integrated control panel, an arm and the head, which contains the optical system. The head of the spotlight is fixed to the arm and performs vertical movements (TILT), while the arm can be rotated around its own axis (PAN). These stepless PAN and TILT movements allow the light to be directed in any direction. Especially in light shows, moving heads are important design elements.

Thanks to their conical light beam, moving head spots are ideal for illuminating specific objects. Gobos, colors and effects can be used to deliberately set accents.

Moving Head Spots

It is hard to imagine lighting technology without them: Whether it is TV productions, concerts or theater stages, moving heads and especially moving head spots have simply been part of the established lighting equipment for years. After all, the moving head spotlights ensure that an event is equipped with that special something in terms of moving light. The spectacular effects of light they bring onto the stage or into the disco turn every party into a visual highlight.

Moving head spots are composed of the base, which contains the integrated control unit, the arm, and the head with the optical system. The head of the moving head is firmly connected to its arm and performs the TILT movements (i.e., in the vertical axis) for which the spotlight is known. At the same time, the arm of the moving head performs the PAN movement (on the horizontal axis). This PAN/TILT movement makes it possible to bring the light of the spotlight to every corner of an event location.

The special feature of the Moving Head Spot is that the head-mounted spotlight has an integrated lens that provides a light image of the spot – compared to the Moving Head Wash – with seemingly sharp edges. These make it possible to use a strictly delimited light cone or to project sharp images onto a screen.

In our online store, we offer moving head spots by EUROLITE and FUTURELIGHT, which can be controlled by DMX. These moving head spotlights are equipped with various functions that support you to create an impressive show, for example, in the club. For this purpose, our moving head spots are equipped with various design elements, for example, to provide your stage light with the optimal moving light:

For example, the moving head spots are equipped with gobos. Gobos are round plates made of plastic or glass that can be inserted into the moving head spots. They represent various logos, patterns, texts or images that are projected into a room during an event with the help of the generated light beam or – thanks to the pan and tilt movement – are moved through a room. In addition, an integrated zoom makes it possible for some moving heads to change the exit angle of the light beam.

By the way: Depending on the spot, due to the gobo slot-in system, gobos can be exchanged without tools. In combination with a color wheel with dichroic colors and a prism, the gobos included in the spots provide spectacular projections in a nightclub or during a concert.

Do you still have questions about the Moving Head Spot, their various applications in event technology or how they can be combined via DMX with other moving lights such as the Moving Head Beam? Then please do not hesitate to contact our staff. We will be happy to advise you on your questions regarding the moving head spotlights and accessories available for them.
