Traditionally, blinders were equipped with 230 V PAR lamps - the typical afterglow of a lamp is therefore still part of the effect achieved by many lighting technicians. Nowadays, blinders are operated with strong COB LEDs. Just like PAR lamps in the past, these create extreme brightness. Even the afterglow effect is reproduced by many modern blinders. An advantage of the LED in this context is that it needs much less energy for the same light output and generates much less heat compared to the classic PAR lamp.
